You can share your device screen to the projector and/or LED TV using Apple TV. Apple TV will wake up when you select APPLE TV on the Crestron panel. To connect your device to Apple TV, you will use Airplay (Macbook) or screen mirroring (iPad).  

  

Screen Mirroring on iPad: 

To connect to Apple TV: 

  

  • Double-tap on Home button to open Control Center. 

  • In Control Center, tap  Screen Mirroring. 

  • Then, select your Apple TV from the list. 

(Usually a room number or teacher name) 

  • Enter the 4-digit code that’s displayed via projector/TV. 

  • You should now see the image from your device displayed. 

To disconnect from Apple TV: 

  

  • Double-tap on Home button to open Control Center. 

  • In Control Center, tap  Screen Mirroring. 

  • Select “Turn off Airplay Mirroring.” 

  

  

Troubleshooting 

  • My iPad won’t connect to Apple TV, but I can see Apple TV 

  • Ensure your device Bluetooth is on 

  • Restart your device, then turn back on to connect. 

  • Ask your site tech lead for support if still not connecting 

  

  • My iPad doesn’t see my room’s Apple TV on the screen mirroring option list?  

Determine if the issue is with your device or the Apple TV by trying to connect another device. If the other device can see your room's Apple TV and connect, then it is your device.  

  • If your device: 

  • Restart your device 

  • Verify Bluetooth is on 

  • Contact your site tech lead for support if still not connecting 

  

  • If neither device sees the Apple TV, it is the Apple TV: 

  • Contact your site tech lead for support 

  • If they are unavailable, place a work order to have it reset

Airplay on MacBook: 

To connect to Apple TV: 

  

  • Click on the AirPlay icon   located on the top of your MacBook’s menu bar. 

  • Click on your room listed under “Airplay to” from the dropdown menu. (Usually a room number or teacher name) 

  • Enter the 4-digit code that’s displayed on TV. 

  • You should now see the image from your device displayed. 

  

To disconnect from Apple TV: 

  

  • Click on the AirPlay icon   on the top of your MacBook’s menu bar. 

  • Select “Turn AirPlay Off.” 

  

  

Troubleshooting 

  • I can’t see Airplay icon  

  • Click on the Apple in top, left corner 

  • Click on System Preferences 

  • Click on Displays 

  • At bottom of window, click on the box that says Show mirroring options 

  • It should now be displayed along the top of your screen 

  • I can see my Apple TV, but it won’t give me a code to enter?  

Determine if it is your device or the Apple TV by trying to connect using another device. If the other device can see your room's Apple TV and connect, then it is your device.  

  • Restart your device and attempt to connect 

  • Contact your site tech lead for support 

  • Submit a work order if unable to resolve 

  

  • Don’t see your Apple TV or AirPlay-enabled device?  

  • Verify Teacher device is on “Staff” Wi-Fi network  

  • Turn on Bluetooth   

  • Verify you are connecting to your room’s Apple TV
